Zytec-D is the one for ME !! ...Okay, I have asthma and allergies so severely that I was convinced that they did not make a 12 hour decongestant that actually worked more than 6-8 hours. I have tried every drug (literally) that has been made, starting with Entex PSE, allegra, allegra-D, Claritin-D, Liquibid, etc...Well,low and behold, there is a GOD. My allergist started me on this one year ago, and not only does it work quickly and effectively, but it works the entire 12 hours !! AMAZING!! I will never try another drug again. I want to add that I use many inhalers, nasal sprays, and I receive 5 allergy shots per week for about 1.4 years.
I have had 2 sinus surgeries, and go back for the third surgery in just 3 days now. I get chronic sinusitis, and so many sinus infections, that the infection is getting trapped in my sinus canals and the tissue is growing over it, causing sinus disease now in my frontal, ethmoid, spenoid and maxillary sinus on my entire right side of face.
I only know from experience that different decongestants work better for some, and worse for others. But, given my background with continued suffering since childhood, I believe that there is not another drug that works better than Zyrtec-D. It has the "usual" side effects initially (ie..rapid heart rate), but as many sufferers know, this is common with all antihistamine/decongestant combos and with time, it does go away completely. It is a little expensive, comparable to Claritin-D, price wise. About 1.50 per tablet. It is the best 3.00 dollars I spend a day, without a doubt....to all you skeptical people, try this for just 2 weeks, and you too, will be amazed by the results. I would recommend this to anyone who suffers with allergies..It is by far the best one I have every taken......Sincerely, booboo <*-*>
Zyrtec/Cetirzine Zyrtec plus Allegra nicely control my allergic conjunctivitis. I take the Zyrtec at bedtime because it makes me very drowsy, and I take the Allegra in the morning because it does not cause drowsiness. I have tried to drop off one of these two meds and just do one med twice a day, but this did not control my symptoms.
zyrtec/cetirize very effective works great once it gets into your system, but that might take awhile. I am on a small dose, and it works fine, but started out at 10mgs, and took a few weeks to control the hives. Before being diagnosed, took Benedryl, worked well, but had to take a few doses a day. Still take it for the days the hives get a little itchy, but all in all pretty controlled and feel 'normal'. Hate that pinprick from the inside to the skin warning of what is to come outwardly, yuck.
Zyrtec-D My Allegra D was not helping during this ragweed season (Aug-Oct) and I was switched to Zyrtec. IT HELPED and I have no side effects that I know of! It did NOT effect my blood pressure and I have no trouble sleeping at night.
Zyrtec-d helped me breath and clear my ear. I had severe sinucitis. The side effecs weren't too bad. I had drowsiness and a touch of dizziness with very little tightening of the chest. The tightness was only on the first night. I think this med is good to take for any sinus problems or allergies.
Zyrtec-D = Horrible Dry Mouth I was only able to stay on Zytec-D for a few months. The side effect I noticed the most was the residual dry mouth and throat. Drinking water and sucking on hard candies could not relieve the discomfort. I would couging uncontrollably during meetings, was very uncomfortable and felt that I had terrible breath (confirmed by my fiance) because there was no saliva in my mouth to wash away bacteria.
Zyrtec Zyrtec works pretty good but is $75-$90 per bottle.
Zyrtec Zyrtec worked better for me than any other prescription allergy medicine.
Zyrtec Works wonders for me. Tried clariten but that didn't work
Zyrtec works great for me, i have constant year round allergies and once i started taking zyrtec everyday the symptoms got significantly better. Per my doctor I take one 10mg tablet a day, and take a second one if I am having a bad symtom day which only happens about once every two weeks. Good stuff, better than claritin!
Zyrtec Was on Allegra & switched last year at the start of the spring. So far it's been good, not totally symptom free, but much better than my husband who over uses the OTC allergy/sinus medications.
Zyrtec This is the only antihistamine that works with no side effects for me.
