Reviews/Feedback:
Works as an antihistamin I've been taking a lot of Vit. C for several years. It works for an hour or 2 as an antihistamine and also helps my arthritis. I take up to 12 gms a day. It hasn't cured anything but it helps.
Wonderful! I think it really helped my RA from causing me erosions. It is a powerful anit-inflammatory. I haven't been ill a day since I started it. I lost a lot of fatigue with it as well.
Wonderful Have been taking vit C for 20 yrs or so, mum started me on it. Take it every day and feel it helps me reduce colds and help with the healing process. Also helps along with diet with my asthma
Vitamin C works Vitamin C is a very potent antioxidant that should be included in everyones daily intake. I have been taking 2000 - 3000 mg for over 10 years and find it very helpful. It's nice to have the extra protection that vitamin c gives on a daily basis.
Vitamin C When I'm coming down with a cold, I take a lot of Vitamin C. I believe with Echinaccea it helps. One winter I had flu that was unending. A friend brought me a roll of Vitamin C and within 24 hours the asthma was getting better. I was about to put myself in the hospital when this happened. I remember the phone ringing and I thought to myself, "If I can't get across the floor to answer the phone, then I'm going to the ER". Well, I walked gingerly across the floor, answered the phone, and it was my dad asking how I was. I was able to tell him I had walked to the phone without an asthma attack. (It was THAT bad). That was the beginning of the change from sickness to getting better. I believe it was the Vitamin C.
Vitamin C Vitamin C is one of the remedies I use to boost up my immune system and it helps. Don't use too much. Some say: use up to "bowel tolerance" that is so much that your bowel will protest... Well, I use 'just' one gram each day (time-released tablet) and I find it ok, no side-effects at all.
Vitamin C Vitamin C is important to healthy cells and helpful in improving lung function. I always double my daily doseage whenever I'm sick or getting there.
vitamin c vitamin c can be take 15000mg to 20000mg a day but check with your doctor im just starting this dose its suppose to be very effective with bringing blood counts back to normal levels.but im taking direction from a doctor
Vitamin C Take it as a preventative measure along with B6, E, Omega 3-6-9, a multi vitamin and lutein-Z. Overall I feel much better than I did before taking these.
Vitamin C is awesome! Since I've been taking 1000 milligrams a day I have noticed a 40% reduction in the amount of times that I get a cold or bronchitis and even pneumonia. I'm asthmatic and to me that is a blessing. I use Nature Made because it absorbs into the system faster than many other brands. It also has no fillers, sugars or artificial additives. I swear by it.
Vitamin C for allergies I have taken 6 grams a day for over 30 years and my severe hayfever and allergies to cats, dogs, outdoor plants have been reversed. I am symptom free. About 20 years ago I decreased it significantly and that summer, all my allergic symptoms returned. When I began taking Vitamin C again, it didn't help initially, but I kept up with it and the next year I was symptom free again. I also get few colds and, as an aside, I was informed that, in amounts above 5 grams per day, Vitamin C acts as an anti-inflammatory. Last year I had an injury that required 30 stitches and I did not have to take any of the prescribed pain medication. I now believe this was due to the amounts of Vitamin C I take.
Vitamin C does wonders I will never be without my vitamin C. I take a lot but have been able to get off of many drugs. It protects me from other bugs, too.

Drug Uses

Vitamin C is a vitamin that is necessary for normal growth and development.

How to use

Use Vitamin C as directed by your doctor.

Take Vitamin C by mouth with or without food.
Chew a pill before swallowing.
Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Vitamin C.
Drug Class and Mechanism

Vitamin C is required for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is necessary to form collagen, an important protein used to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is essential for the healing of wounds, and for the repair and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.

The body cannot store vitamins. Leftover amounts of the vitamins leave the body through the urine. That means you need a continuous supply of such vitamins in your diet.

A severe form of vitamin C deficiency is known as scurvy, which mainly affects older, malnourished adults.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Vitamin C and are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Storage

Store Vitamin C at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep in a tight, light-resistant container. Keep Vitamin C out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Warnings/Precautions

Taking megadoses of vitamin C may lead to kidney damage, diarrhea, iron overload and accelerated atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). It increases the risk of kidney stones in some people. If stopped abruptly, it may result in rebound scurvy (vitamin C deficiency). Doses between 2000 and 5000 mg per day may have anti-coagulant properties, making it difficult for people to stop bleeding.
Possible Side Effects

Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:

Dry and splitting hair; gingivitis (inflammation of the gums); bleeding gums; rough, dry, scaly skin; decreased wound-healing rate; easy bruising; nosebleeds; weakened tooth enamel; swollen and painful joints; anemia; decreased ability to fight infection; possible weight gain because of slowed metabolism.
More Information

Vitamin C is used therapeutically in huge doses from 100 to 10,000 mg a day. In acute poisoning or infections, 1,000 to 2,000 mg, preferably in injection form, can be administered every one and a half or two hours.
