Reviews/Feedback:
Was taking 500 mg by mouth twice a day. (morning and night). After 2 weeks, I noticed a dramatic change in my acne, and how much less break outs took place. I was on the medication before, and took the full month script as perscribed above and then limited the pills to one a day and I still had the same result as though I were Taking the normal Dose. As far as side effects. I noticed nothing except maybe slight upset stomach, that passed with in minutes.
very hard to time doses, take on an empty stomach, or 2-3 hours after eating, no calcium within 2-3 hours, and you can't lie down after taking it for 30 mins, you have stick to a strict schedule to follow directions exactly.
Tetracycline does a great job of cleaning up your skin. But if you have a weak stomach, ask for another treatment. Your stomach will adjust, but the first couple weeks you will notice aches and a upset stomach 30 minutes to 2 hours after taking the medication. But over time your stomach will adjust and will get back to normal. You must take the medication on a empty stomach.
Starts healing the first day that i begin taking it. In a week, it's completely clear, but I finish all medication.
Okay, from my experience it works great, been on it for about 2 to 3 years, face is cleared up. i haven't noticed any sensitivity to sun but I dont' usually go out in the sun too often. it is difficult to time up the pills especially b/c I like to eat several small meals throughout the day. I stopped taking this medication twice and a few days after noticed my face getting oily again and acne coming back. I do take them sometimes with food eaten recently but try to take it on an empty stomach. In the first few weeks I noticed stomach aches but now I am adjusted. Overall I recommend this drug but it is a pain not only to take two pills a day but to take it on an empty stomach twice a day is difficult but if you have had a lifelong acne problem like me its worth the sacrifice. By far better than any acne topical cream and I have used many. by the way its generic and shouldn't cost much...

MY GRANDMA USED THIS ON ME SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL. I STILL USE IT.
it works very well if taken the right way and according to directions. However, it did ocassionally give me an upset stomach
it worked very well for my acne
It is a bit inconvenient to take the pills while avoiding dairy products, but I noticed a change in my acne within a 24 hours of taking tetracycline. My dermatologist also paired this drug with a topical solution called Sulfatol Lotion, I do not know exactly what it does but it is contains 10% Sodium Sulfacetamide and 5% Sulfur.
I've only been on this med for 3 days now and am already seeing a difference. I'm 32 and my acne is worse now than when I was a teenager. I'm hopeing that this med will clear my acne up and I'll look like a normal person again.
I was in my late 30's and early 40's and developed a severe case of acne. My dermatologist put me on this medication along with the topical medication Benzaclin. It took a good month or so to start working and then I took it for a few years. It worked wonders. When it was time to try to get off, I did ok. I believe it was from some type of infection going on in my body. I don't need anything anymore.

Drug Uses

Tetracycline is used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, acne, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and others.

How to use

Use Tetracycline as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Take Tetracycline by mouth on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating.

Take Tetracycline with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Tetracycline.

If you also take antacids containing aluminum, calcium, or magnesium; preparations containing bismuth, iron, zinc, or sodium bicarbonate; or calcium rich foods (eg, milk, dairy products, calcium-enriched juices), do not take them within 2 to 3 hours before or after taking Tetracycline . Check with your doctor if you have questions.

To clear up your infection completely, take Tetracycline for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Tetracycline is a tetracycline antibiotic. It works by slowing the growth of sensitive bacteria by interfering with the production of proteins needed by the bacteria to grow. Slowing the bacteria's growth allows the body's defense mechanisms to destroy them.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Tetracycline and are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Store Tetracycline between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Tetracycline out of the reach of children and away from pets.
