Works great, I have not had any side effects
when I was pregnant with my second child the doctor stop my other med for hbp, and starded on this one works real good to lower hbp but it mess my teeth and gum.
When I became pregnant my physician switched my High blood pressure medicine to Procardia XL as it was safer in pregnancy than the Norvasc and the HCTZ. It worked very well. I took one pill/day. I was able to carry both my girls to over 37 weeks. It has worked so well, that we've decided to continue its use. So, I've gone from two pills to one!
This medication gave me extreme leg cramps and rapid heart beat during pregnancy. My MD has now switched me back to Lopressor.
This drug started out as being a wonderful drug. It kept my blood pressure very low. I have been taking this drug for over 15 years. I was borderline hypertensive and now with hindsight, I should have never let a doctor talk me into going on meds. He never indicated diet and exercise. Nevertheless, even though the drug is keeping my blood pressure down, I am now developing chest pains, and difficulty breathing if I am even hours late taking the drug. I dont feel like its helping my cardio problems at all, but it helps my blood pressure. Does that make sense? The longer you take it, you develop other problems.
TAKING THIS MED FOR 2 MONTHS NOW. VERY PLEASED W/ RESULTS. ALSO TAKE 2 OTHER BP MEDS. ONLY PROBLEMS (HAD MIGRAINES FIRST COUPLE DAYS. I ALSO HAVE VERY SORE MUSCLES SINCE STARTING THIS MED.
Overall, this medication has helped me manage my blood pressure since being prescribed during my second pregnancy, but the side effects have been unforgiving. I have been taking 90 mg Nifedipine for 6 years now. Since taking this medication I have experienced Tinnitus, poor gum health - which constantly needs treatment, tremors (shakiness), bladder issues, body stiffness, occasional headaches, and some edema. I think long term use of this medication should be discussed with a specialist. I have decided to seek alternatives to this medication.
my feet are so badly swollen I can't get my shoes on.
MED WORKS BUT EXPENSIVE.
It worked well for my high blood pressure , but cause some stomach issues.
It is effective at lowering BP while taking it, but I would prefer something that addresses the cause, not the symptom. If BP increases once off of it, then the problem hasn't been resolved.
I have taken this drug for a little less than 1 month. The day I took the first pill, 60mg, my blood pressure was within the low normal range. However, the ankle and lower leg swelling was not acceptable. Also, more frequent and lengthy urination. The drug also caused headaches. I have stopped taking the medication and am starting a daily exercise program.
