Reviews/Feedback:
Worked great so far...have only been taking this 10 days and have seen results. Only problem is an itching "inside" my hands and feet, which is bothersome, as well as some slight nausea and fatigue. I'm a runner and have been nowhere near able to run what I typically do since starting this. Taking two doses a day, so am hoping once I taper to once a day, then eventually none, this will all stop.
very quick and effective. have experienced headaches in first few weeks using as well as nosebleeds. can not stand up too quickly either. wondering if anyone else has also had nosebleeds??
Very quick and effective at eliminating my cystic acne. I've not had side effects.
This was prescribed to me for back/chest acne. I've never had any acne on my face with the exception of a few pimples here and there. After 7 days, two huge pimples and the acne on my back and chest are gone. I have had no side effects, but I also tolerated doxycycline very well (prescribed for a chronic dry eye condition). I will definitely stop taking this drug now since it worked well, and I don't want any side effects. I would recommend for short periods of time. If you aren't having a good reaction after day 1 or 2, you should probably stop taking it!
this medicine works better for cystic acne, my side affects are: -dry skin -sensitive skin -little pimples here and there (dont pick becuase they will get worse) -dizziness/headache -blurred vision overall little pimples that you can cover with makeup is way better than huge cycstic pimples.
this medication cleared my skin in a week. i have experienced joint pain, i'm not sure that it is a result of the medication. in fact, i dont believe it is. i feel that this medication is a blessing and really has helped me!
This has worked great for me, but you must take the whole prescription or the acne will return.
The first two days I had severe dizziness and was clammy and nauseous but it got better with time. My skin has cleared up significantly and feels alot smoother. I still get occasional blemishes but it was only been 3 weeks so hopefully this will subside.
Slow to see results, but overall it works well.
o far it's done wonders for my daughter. She had a lttle problem with the heabier dosage, but with 50 mg once a day, the upset stomach stopped. Her tounge still is yellow on this though. But all and all it worked, where I was actually contemplating doing the accutane treatment. Thank God I was lead in a different path. Minocycline oral and tazarotene face cream...good combo!
My 14 year old daughter was put on M 2 1/2 yrs ago. Now at 16 1/2 she has had severe headaches for 3 months (every day!) For 2 1/2yrs she has had body bruising that NEVER goes away (she plays soccer). My biggest concern are her recent headaches. She is going off M and onto YAZ. Please help if this is also your experience. She has had an MRI (normal) but headaches persist..what is the half life for M? how long does it stay in the body after discontinued use??
It works to treat my acne but caused dizziness for a few hours after taking it.

Drug Uses

Minocycline is used for treating certain infections. It may also be used with other medicines to treat severe acne, or for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How to use

Use Minocycline as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Some brands of Minocycline may be taken with food. Others should be taken on an empty stomach. Check with your doctor or pharmacist about how to take your brand of Minocycline.

Some brands of Minocycline must be swallowed whole. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if your medicine is a brand that must be swallowed whole.

Take Minocycline by mouth with or without food.

Take Minocycline with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Minocycline.

If you also take bismuth salts (eg, bismuth subsalicylate), calcium salts (eg, calcium carbonate), colestipol, iron salts (eg, iron sulfate), magnesium, urinary alkalinizers (eg, daily antacids), sucralfate, vitamins/minerals, quinapril, didanosine, or zinc salts (eg, zinc sulfate), do not take them within 2 to 3 hours before or after taking Minocycline. Check with your doctor if you have questions.

To clear up your infection completely, take Minocycline for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.

Minocycline works best if it is taken at the same time each day.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Minocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic. It works by slowing the growth of certain bacteria and allowing the body's immune system to kill them.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Minocycline, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
