Was started on this medication after a four vessel by-pass three years ago..take a small amount two times daily...I still work like a horse and i can do anything i want to...
Very effective in treating my high blood pressure and keeping my heart rate down...
Took this as a two week trial to lower BP (was 149/95) and within a week was down to 128/82. No side effects other than intense dreaming.
This medication was effective except when I would go out it the sun it would cause water bumps! I live in the south for god's sake!
The only problem that I can see taking it, is that you have to be precise in the times of the drug. It can't be a once a day dosage. If you don't take it precisely it can be ineffective. The sexual side effects are what scares me. But doesn't seem to be a problem at this time.
Lopressor as an Augment to Xanax Lopressor (brand name) has worked well for me in combination with Xanax. Xanax seems to deal with anxiety that's "in the head" and in the center of the chest while Lopressor helps with anxiety sensations every where else, e.g., mussel tightness and tachycardia.
it is one of the few i tried that did not upset my stomact and leave me feeling irratated
I started taking metropolol 2 years ago with another blood pressure med. I began having a reaction several months ago and am off the BP med. but taking a higher dose of the metoprolol. I have a terrible itchy rash, headache, and when the med peaks I feel I feel tightness heat in my chest
I started out with a bp of about 250/190. Yikes, right? Especially for someone my age, which is 30. I was prescribed Lopressor two weeks ago and today my pressure was 140/92. Not perfect yet, I know, but wow! Furthermore, I used to have serious headaches that I attributed to migraine but I haven't had the first one since I started this medication. I have to say, I'm really pleased with my results.
I sleep all the time, cardioligst says it might be a side effect from this drug
i just started taking lopressor today.
I have taken several different medications for high blood pressure with little or no effect. Lopressor works for me and has kept my blood pressure under control for over 15 years.
