Worked for a while--but then. . . I took BCPs for endo for three years, and it certainly reduced my symptoms. Unfortunately, I developed an allergy to the Pill, and spent 6 months walking around covered with giant hives before it occurred to my doctors that the Pill was behind my problem. Once my system became sensitized to the synthetic hormones, the sensitivity generalized to my own natural progesterone, and for two years after I went off the Pill I got hives premenstrually and for the first few days of my period. So I got the joy of both returned endo pain, and recurrent huge red hives. I don't think my story is very common, but I've heard of others who have developed BCP allergies, so keep this in mind if you develop allergic symptoms and are on the Pill.
very well the pill is a great thing to take it very conveinent and its effective
This pill has been amazing, I started taking it 3 months before I had sex for the first time, and it regulated my periods as well as giving me peace of mind contraception-wise. A positive side-effect I hadn't expected was a total escape from depression which I had suffered for 4 years prior to starting on Levlen. I went from 49 kg to 53 kg and I'm now very happy with my weight! Brilliant introduction to birth control pills.
The Pill I have mixed feelings on taking it for the disease. Yes it did help to supress my symptoms, but did it harm me worse in the long run? not sure, but have suffered with major hormonal imbalance ever since. The symptoms immediatly came back upon discontinued use.
my doctor put me on tri-leveln so that I would get 1 period a month instead of the 2 I was usually getting. Overall I was pretty satisfied with this bcp. The only side effect I experienced was the nausea that I had when I initally started the pill after about a month it went away. downside opposite effect on the duration of my period it took my normal 4 day cycle to a 7 day cycle however the 7 day cycle was A LOT easier to deal with than the 4 days I was having prior to the bcp...my doc put me on yasmin (havnt started yet) any bad side effects and I asking to be put back on this one
It works for me, and helps with my acne This product has successfully prevented pregnancy for me. It also helped my acne quite a bit. I felt that a 38-year-old still getting acne made me look unprofessional, and I'm glad someone advised me to take the pill. I still get pimples occasionally, but not nearly as often as before. I think I might have gained some weight because of it, but I'm not sure (the weight gain may have been due to other reasons).
It does what it''s suposed to Although the packaging is rather bizarre (a pink elongated oval, as opposed to the typical birth control pill circle/ dial), this pill is a good match for me. I do my part and take it as prescribed and it has held up it's end of the bargain by keeping me from an unexpected pregnancy. I've had no notable side effects from it. Like all bc pills, it has to be taken daily and consistently to work, which is why I gave it a lower ease-of-use score. I get it through planned parenthood and it is very affordable, even if medicaid didn't cover it (but they do.)
I have not noticed anything different with using this med over a different option
I have been on Tri-Levlen/Trivora/Triphasil using all different generics off and on with no changes notices between them for about 4.5 years now. It has been great for me. It has taken away PMS cramps, reduced PMS bloating, possible reduced acne, and not let me get pregnant for the past 4 years as I have been sexually active throughout these past 4 years. I do use extra contraception when taking anti-biotics just to be safe.
I recommend trying this pill if you are unhappy with a different method of birth control or another pill. I was on a different pill for the first year I started the pill and it made me depressed, no question. Once I switched to Tri-Levlen, i returned to my normal self and was no longer unhappy all the time. I can't believe I was on the other pill that was causing me to feel depressed all the time for a whole year without my doctor noticing (I noticed). This pill was Necon by the way. I was told that pills with the three different doses help to avoid the depression side effect.
I have been on this BC pill for about 6 months. I did have some intermittent spotting but I think that was because I had just started taking it and I wasn't the best about taking my pill at the same time every day
Great Results I have to take birth control b/c i produce extra eggs, causing cysts to form on my left ovary. I have had this problem since i was 16. I turned 30 and noticed a change in how I was feeling from my birth control. I switched from Levlen to Lo-ovral and am doing fine now. It also does not seem to affect my mood when I get my period, and since I'm bi-polar, that is a very good thing.
