Reviews/Feedback:
works well for me, but after reading some of the reviews, I might switch, zophran and phenergan work just as well
Works for me! I have Compazine on hand at home to combat the nausea that accompanies my severe migraines. It works wonderfully for me!! It has never "knocked me out" as I have heard people say(even with the Demerol), although I would think that would be a blessing if you truly have a severe migraine. I find it very effective in allowing me to keep my pain reliever down. I have also had it in injection form when seeking treatment at my doctor's office along with the pain reliever. I now have a prescription of each at home so that I do not have to attempt to find transportation to and from the office for treatment since they do not want you to drive after taking Compazine and either Demerol or Toradol. I would recommend this as an option for anyone with severe migraines accomanied by nausea.
Works but not alone It definitely works on the nausea and will stop you from puking. It also have some effect on the actual headache if you catch it early enough. This is a med that needs to be combined with NSAIDS and TYLENOL also, as it is just a symptomatic treatment. Adding a triptan to it, with doctor advice, really juices up this power migraine combo. Gets rid of nausea quick and better than Phenergan. And it great to have on hand for other nausea you may have too...but can't use too much of this stuff, or too often.

Of course as a last resort we can make that trip to the E.R. for the shot of Demerol or Morphine!
Wave farewell to that evil nausea with Compazine! I was prescribed Compazine after suffering from severe nausea related to my horrific migraine headaches and found it to be completely effective interms of reducing the urge to vomit and allowing me to feel more at peace and relaxed.

Because my nausea is always so overwhelmingly strong, I use Compazine suppositories which work wonders in those desperate times of need when I'm about ready to spew my guts all over the floor and hit myself in the head with a baseball bat...and it's so easy to insert, also because I found out from the pharmacist that Compazine can be used inter-vaginally, along with rectally, so basically women can put it in like a tampon and reap the benefits without having to stick the foreign suppository up your butt.

Unlike other anti-nausea medications such as Phenergan, which is very similar in structure and purpose to it, Compazine doesn't cause any adverse reactions in me except for maybe a slight degree of drowsiness, but not enough to make me actually fall asleep. I highly recommend using Compazine tablets or suppositories when your head won't stop aching and your stomach won't stop jumping up towards your throat because while it doesn't fix the migraine itself, it DOES, indeed fix this major symptom of the migraine, and does so in a pretty quick manner, as in about fifteen to twenty minutes after ingestion/insertion, at least in my experience--Take Compazine and say bye-bye to the pesky little feelings of nausea...forever!
Was taken to the hospital by ambulance with sever nausea and sever migrain. I was given 2 injections of toridol and this drug great results.. Nausea went away and the migrain did also
prohibit nausia vomiting
I went to the ER and they gave me Benadryl and Compazine injections (no IV) and they worked great to break up my migraine. I was tired but that was ok since it was the middle of the night. I didn't have any of the side effects anyone else mentioned.
I was vomiting for long time at hospital from side effects of another medication .After The MD gave me this I slept and all symptoms stopped. I have also used this for extreme gas pains in stomach .
I was RX'd this drug in the E/R for migraine with extreme nausea. It worked almost immediately, and took care of almost all the nausea. I have not experienced any of the side effects others have discussed here, but it's worth mentioning to my doctor.
I take Compazine with my Zomig Zomig doesn't usually get rid of my nausea so I often take Compazine along with the Zomig and the combination works great for me.
I occasionally get nausea after dialysis and this drug helps that feeling subside very quickly after taking it. I haven't experienced any side effects listed bt others here...it actually has almost a calming effect for me.
I have used compazine for years for nausea accompaning horrific headaches and car/motion sickness. It works great for me very quickly with NO side effects! I have even used it before when I have had the flu and it helped greatly with the nausea.
